I generally give them a little, if I can spare it. and if I have
something the appropriate size in my pocket. I don't hand out
twenties. Sure, they may buy booze with it -- I figure that's on them.

I do make an exception for people who ask me more than twice and don't
recognize me. I figure that if you are going to make a career out of
begging, you should at least provide good customer service :)
