Because you probably need that education to add value. As business becomes more advanced people need to think in terms of careers rather than a job and for a career a strong math background is key. Your value, though, is not the math background; it's how you add value to something that's already being done. For example, computer programmers can easily lose their job to India with or without a CS degree. A good IT manager, however, is not so easy to find and a CS degree can help you become one. The US cannot compete with any job that's "neo-manual labor" such as programming or accounting and keep its standard of living; the market has other plans for those jobs. It used to be that you couldn't get the education to do those jobs if you weren't western. That's over. Right now the US has one huge advantage: we have the best higher education in the world (although competition is coming). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Discover CFTicket - The leading ColdFusion Help Desk and Trouble Ticket application http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=48 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:158178 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
