Unfortunately we're just not set up to support a third party - our system
just doesn't handle them at all well.

In other systems small third (and fourth and fifth) parties are actually
given representation, in ours they're just not.

In our system any imbalance in a three-party dynamic will quickly lead to a
obscenely powerful party and two hangers-on.

In our system any new party would need to aim at usurping one of the
existing two, not working with them on even grounds. And of course during
that process the party not being targeted would reign all but supreme.

Sound familiar...? ;^)
