That's a loaded question and I have to be somewhere in five minutes, but:

Yes, I homeschool, in large part because of these issues.

Yes, both ADHD and ODD are real disorders. Schools make them worse, in
my opinion, and over-diagnose them because kids on ritalin are easier
to handle, but there are also kids who are genuinely best served by
being on meds. Mine don't like them, say they get headaches, and I
think at 13 and 15 they are entitled to input.

So it's a complicated question with a lot of political correctness on
both sides. I believe a correct solution in each case depends on the
child, the school, the available school choices, the parent, the
availability of therapy....
