My kids have always worn seat belts. My parents would tell us of the
times when they would begin pulling out of their driveway before the
kids had time to get their seatbelts on. The kids would yell, "STOP!!
WAIT!!!" and my parents were not "allowed" to drive any farther until
the kids were all buckled.

I'm with you. I can't hardly stand to drive w/o a seatbelt on. It just
feels "naked". Plus, in the Corvette, you can cinch the belt down to
hold you even tighter in the seat. I love that feature. It's like a
large-breasted babe reaching from behind to hold you tight to her, but
without the large-breated babe.

It's a terrible story, but I'm glad people (including your daughter) are
learning from it. I hope they also learn about wearing seat belts.
Personally, riding without one gives me the absolute creeps -- I just
know that the one time I'm in a car with a broken belt, that's when I'll
be in an accident.

On a lighter note, riding without a seatbelt also gives me a sense of
impending me.
