I picked up an old scrollsaw this weekend. Beautiful. Looks like it is made of brass. Cast in a very interesting shape, almost like a giant paper clip. $20.00. The mechanism is smooth. I tried to hook it up to a treadle from an old sewing machine, and it looks like that is going to work fine to drive it.
