We don't want to be imprisoned without due process because we don't plan on our soldiers throwing away their uniforms, travelling to a foreign country, and taking up arms against a foreign country on another country's soil.
I'm all for holding the United States to a higher standard, but at what point does it become ridiculous...or dangerous? The 500+ prisoners at Gitmo are really the first in a brand new class of POW. I'm wondering if we don't need another mini Geneva convention to deal with the realities of "war" in the 21st century....? Among other things, the world needs to agree on definitions for just exactly what kind of prisoners these thugs represent. > > Whether it's in the convention or not there is a moral law which > applies and that law says you shouldn't indefinitely imprison somebody > without due process since we don't want to be imprisoned without due > process. > > If you don't apply that moral law, then what are we fighting for? > > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Purchase Contribute 3 from House of Fusion, a Macromedia Authorized Affiliate and support the CF community. http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=53 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:164380 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
