We try to keep our fighters at a steady weight, if they need to cut it's only a 
few pounds (no more than 10). I've seen to many fighters weighing in at states 
and nationals who can barely stand because they tried to drop 20 or 30 pounds 
in a week or two by not eating.

I need to get back down in the 160's -170's  I fought heavyweight at nationals 
(180+) two years ago, and wound up in the ring with a guy who was in the 
250-275 pound range, I couldn't get around him fast enough to kick him with any 
force.... no thank you.

Cutting to lose weight. Once I cut down another 20 pounds or so It will
be winter time and then comes the bulk. No competition, just like to
lift and workout. :) I just recently got my diet under control. Diet is
99% of losing weight.
