I agree with Gruss on this one... even with the Big Bang theory one has to
wonder "how'd the rock get there in the first place, and what or who triggered
the event"

I believe in God, not the neo-con version ($ + power disguised as religion, all
for the few not the many) but the God that I grew up with, that my parents
taught me about. I also believe there was a man named Jesus who lived in the
Middle East and did many, many great things, because he's mentioned in three of
the major world religions, and because I *choose* to believe. Whether he was a
prophet or the son of God, I don't know, because I *choose* not to take the
bible as empirical fact.

Watch one of the Discovery Channel shows on the creation of the bible it's
eye-opening.

But... what is taught in *public* schools should be as close to empirical (sp?)
fact as we can get, with established science as a guide.
ID is not empirical fact, it is religious conjecture, as such should not be
taught in public schools.

Either teach your kids ID at home, or find a private school that teaches it.

I'm not trying to be harsh, but anybody that rejects a scientifically
derived theory in favor of an arbitrary one is not making good
decisions which is the definition of stupid.

Let's just take take on the big enchilada - God. What does science
say about him? Well, not much, because there's no obvious conclusions
that are obtained from multiple lines of inquiry that say he does or
doesn't exist.

Therefore believing in God doesn't make one stupid. Apply the same
logic to evolution and we see that evolution is an inescapable
conclusionnderived from multiple lines of inquiry.

However, what started evolution is unknown - it could have been ID or
something else.
