Any enemy deserves respect. Especially a well-organized, intelligent one. > If it makes you fell better, I'll call em frickin' geniuses!! But their > attempts in this regard are dispicable, dangerous, and just plain WRONG. None of which has anything to do with their intelligence. Underestimating somebody, especially an adversary, is dangerous and stupid. You call them "stupid". These people welcome that. The more you call them stupid and underestimate them the more ground and support they gain. It happened in the last election. Liberals spent how long lambasting the "Red States" as idiots, hicks, morons and so on. The Red States responded by voting in record numbers. In the end they've, not us, have decided to frame this debate as a scientific one rather than a religious one. YES, I AGREE it's a wedge tactic (which shows a level intelligence greater than you're giving them credit for right there) but that doesn't matter. The science of this is pretty clear: taken as presented ID is actually an interesting theory when considered rationally. There's some value in it (as there is value in all scientific endeavors). However when taken scientifically it does not have the background, support or testing needed to stand equally with evolution. It just plain doesn't. Science defends itself on its own turf very well in this regard. But letting yourself get drawn into a religious debate. Letting yourself get drawn into personal attacks. Letting yourself appear to be the biased, close-minded fool is exactly what these people want. It brings the debate down to an emotional level where the science can no longer defend itself properly. And then they win.
