Sort of.  I think there are testable aspects to it - but so far none have
tested out in such as way as to bolster its case.

For example "Irreducible Complexity" is a testable concept, I think.  Of
course any positive tests could probably never be ultimately confirmed but
then again many of our current models don't have ultimate confirmation yet.

In any case there are certain aspects that are still worth exploring.

The most interesting to me is "how do you recognize design?"

There are huge ramifications to that question in many fields: law
enforcement, computer security, artificial intelligence, radio astronomy,
etc.

As a field of inquiry this is really a fascinating area.
