11. If instant hot water is important, have them plumb the hot water on a circuit and then install a circulating pump. 12. Have them deck as much of the attic as they can. It's a lot easier to do when they haven't put a roof on. 13. Install a security system before the sheetrock goes up. 14. Have the dishwasher raised a few inches, it makes it easier to load since you don't have to bend over too far. 15. Put space for a second refrigerator in the utility room. If you have kids, you'll end up wanting a second refrigerator. 16. If you have a workout room, don't carpet it. Any kind of equipment you run on, namely a treadmill, will bounce too much on carpet. 17. If you have a non-brass finish on your fixtures, make sure they still don't use brass hinges on your doors. 18. Skip the jacuzzi tub. You'll love it for about 6 months, then never use it. During the next few years, mold will build up in the pipes and render it useless.
