SATA Hard disk support RAID 1/0 support built into the motherboard Gigabit LAN built into motherboard USB2.0 support Some means of FLASH BIOS Protection PSU should be 500W at least and deliver steady voltage across the +12v/+5v,+3v rails. You need a quality power supply.Antec,PC P&C and Enermax are good brandnames.
Nvidia 6600GT PCI-E graphics card, can go for a dual solution immediately or wait. OR, you can grab a Nvidia 7800 card immediately. And for God's sake get a solid UPS! I would think about 700v.a. at least for the system I described, keep you going for a while after the lights go out.APC is a good brand.
