Lack of leadership indeed. I know the President can't really do anything, 
but he needs to at least be a symbol of leadeship. After 9/11, Guiliani 
didn't really do much, but he was a terrific symbol of leadership........the 
feeling that someone was in charge, that something was being done. He didn't 
just say it.....he lived it, he was in it.

There are hundreds of things that should be done....and maybe they 
are.....but we aren't seeing it, and the people that need the help certainly 
aren't seeing it.

The only thing i can assume, is that no contingency plan was ever put into 
place for the possible flooding of New Orleans.....which boggles the mind 
even more.

That's all president's ever do during natural disasters...tour the area and 
make comforting speeches. That's all they are supposed to do.....IF there is 
an effective relief effort taking place!!! With no organized effort in this 
case, the president's actions seem hollow and pointless.
