I'm not attacking you, I'm just telling you how things look from where
I'm sitting, but I'm glad to have the discussion.

(1.) I don't know what Mr. Bush is doing at all times, but I do know
the sum total of his response in this case and it's feeble or, in his
euphemisms, "not acceptable."

(2.) Mr. Bush's responsibility is to monitor the well being of the
country and, if needed, take the appropriate action up to and
including personally. In this case any dope watching the news could
see FEMA's response was failing. Either Mr. Bush did too, but did
nothing for days, or he tried to do something but was unable, or
didn't see it. All of those possibilities are an indictment of his
leadership. Your attempts to find a scapegoat are therefore moot, but
I'm sure you'll get plenty of talking points tomorrow. Mr. Stein's
was just the first independent attempt. Rove is surely polling sound
bites as we speak.

(3.) If the federal gov't is not responsible for Louisiana, why are
they there now? And so it becomes obvious they should've been there
earlier and therefore a failure of leadership.
