I did not read through all of that but one thing I have been wondering about since the day I saw it is something I saw on the Sunday before the storm. There was a decently sized FEMA caravan, it had one huge truck and then my guess would be a dozen or so large SUVs(like Suburbans or some other GM flavor SUV of that size) heading eastbound on I10 on the east side of Houston and the vehicle in the back had red/blue lights on and the truck up front had them as well. The lights is the only reason I even wondered at the time as to where the heck are they heading to, now I still wonder what they were being dispatched to.
I think there are twists within twists in all the reports being given and I agree with what Matthew Blatchley said in regards to rather remember this time as to helping people out than to who the finger pointing was being done on although I have done little personally to help beyond donations that were easy to make and did not inconvience me any. A co-worker on the other hand over last weekend snuck in several 55 gallon drums of gas into Biloxi in the dead of the night and from here in Houston. He had to avoid using lights once in for fear of people thinking he was a looter and dealt with a few roadblocks with paranoid police. Had to also take a route that meant the least exposure in the area because supposeably gas is like the nectar of life out there and a good way to get yourself hurt if some individuals find out you have it like he did. His reasoning to go was because someone he knew called him from out there and told them how desparate things were and the route he could take to get it to them. I know a lot would use stories like that to just feed their fights against administrations or organizations, but instead of using it for fuel for the fire perhaps the thing to do is look at that example of someone going way out of their way and to look at it and evaluate their own efforts to help. I know it has made me think ever since I heard him tell it earlier today. > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Maureen" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: "CF-Community" <[email protected]> > Sent: Tuesday, September 06, 2005 10:31 PM > Subject: Re: You must read this. > > > > > > > Read this: > > > > > http://www.wwltv.com/topstories/stories/090605ccKatrinacaresponse.68f01be8.html > > > > > > > > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Find out how CFTicket can increase your company's customer support efficiency by 100% http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=49 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:172939 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
