It's clear you don't understand much about the Bible. For believers, the Bible is the inspired Word of the Lord passed down through his chosen subjects for us to read and obey. If you believe in God, then you can certainly believe he can bring the Written Word to us through anybody He wants to. Furthermore, knowledge of what's to come is in the book of Revelations.
For people those who've actually read it, the Bible contains instructions on how to deal with most situations you're going to find in life. There's nothing new on Earth that people 5000 years ago didn't figure out. For some, the Bible is to be taken literally. For some it's an interpretation. For everyone, they aren't your words, so you better hope you got it right. For non-believers, it's all fun and games 'til someone goes to Hell. -------------------------------- I'm unsure why you label anti-abortion people as cowards. Whether or not you believe their cause, they have taken a stand. They regard terminating a pregnancy as a problem that they would like to see stopped. I can't see what's wrong with that - I don't think anybody would like to have an abortion. The other side of course being that an unwanted pregnancy is carried to term. Perhaps if there wasn't any abortion, people who are in the situation where having a baby would be a bad thing would be a little more cautious about having sex. It might even reduce the occurance of STDs. I don't understand why these people are stupid. They've got an opinion that taking what they regard as life should be wrong. That sounds pretty sensible to me, whether or not I agree. They want to outlaw abortion. I don't think it's an impossible feat to achieve. The Supreme Court could easily change sides (and might) to find that Roe vs. Wade was an incorrect ruling. Heck, I'm no lawyer, but I still don't know where the right to an abortion is written in the Constitution, nor under which Amendment it falls at this point. Actually, I thought it was more of a states rights thing, under the 10th Amendment. I used to care passionately about this situation, I was Pro-Choice. My mom always thought it was an important issue. Then I realized that it doesn't pertain to me. I'm a guy, I'll never get pregnant, and I'm married, so my wife will keep the child we conceive in any case. Why in the world should I choose a Supreme Court Justice based on this one issue, which may even be decided incorrectly? Implicit in that gem is that, if you believe in God, you shouldn't presume to have any great knowledge of the World or what's next. So, so many people don't understand that. Who told these Bible folks to read the Bible in the first place? God? No, they choose to or their parents or some person put it in their hands. So why would they presume that simply because they've read a book other's say is the word of God that it really is? Or that it's to be taken literally. Take anti-abortion activists. They are the epitome of fools and cowards. Is it abortion that's the problem or unwanted pregnancy? If they had any intelligence or courage they'd attack the real problem rather than the easy one. Do you REALLY want to make God laugh? Tell him you know his will. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| All-in-one: antivirus, antispam, firewall for your PC and PDA.
