It's much deeper than that. It's not as if the original text is still laying around somewhere and can just be re-translated. Many of these stories were passed from person to person before there was the written word. Further the Bible was canonized (800 BC?) by some random group of dudes, not prophets. This ambiguity leaves 2 cases: 1.) If you're a believer, then you're sinner if you say you know God's Word, his intent, or his truth. That is, if you say your story or translation is God's Word, but God didn't tell you that, then you're sinning. 2.)
