I consider myself Catholic, but very, very lapse, and certainly not in 100% agreement. However, I think the reason for the 'you can't do anything with your own body' argument is based on the fact that God gave you your body and you should not mistreat it. So suicide isn't you using your free will, but abusing the gift god gave you.
Again, I _think_ that is the argument the church gives. > I don't force others to believe in my religion (although the Catholics > have had some issues with that), so am I do be damned because I don't > force others to believe what I do. Therefore, it isn't something you are doing to your body, but to your body _and_ the child's life. Now, I'm pro-life, but I don't want to get into a huge argument. (Dana, didn't you and I share about 200 emails on this last year? ;) I'm just explaining what I _think_ would be some counter-arguments to your "it's just my body" argument. A better Catholic would know better than I, and of course, not all pro-lifers are Catholic, and vice-versa. "> Personally, I am against war more than I am against abortion." +1. I think I heard somewhere that Bush cares more about stem cells than our soldiers in Iraq. Seems pretty accurate.
