I'm not sure... *I* find it easier, true. But there're a heck of a lot of Flash people that would disagree with me. ;^) Flash is also much more portable (and will probably remain so). It's also more defined and stable (you don't have to worry about cross-browser issues with Flash). For that reason alone I think a good case can be made that Flash development is "easier" than AJAX.
