Almost everything he set out to do is being done. Record profits for big oil. Unlimited free drilling on formerly protected government lands. Rollback of environmental protection laws (like mercury emmisions and clean-air act) Replacement of scientists with idealogues in every government decision-making role. Tax cuts for the very richest. Christian agenda being forced back into government. Rollback of personal freedoms and of government oversight. Big business not only being asked to the table, but being allowed to write whatever laws they want. Filling all the slots on the federal bench created during the Clinton years (because the Republicans refused to confirm judges) with far-right candidates. He has been VERY successful at what he and his backers wanted by putting him into office.
