I'm not sure what you think I'm saying so I'll to be very precise: Where I agree with the Administration ---------------------------------------------------- 1.) A stable democratic Middle East was, is, and will be in the strategic interest of the US. 2.) Hussein was a horrible dictator that ethically needed to go. However, I'm not agreeing that 's the US's responsibility. 3.) Pressuring Hussein on WMD seems appropriate given the intelligence that seems to have been available at the time. As I don't have a security clearance I can only speculate. In short, Hussein needed to go, and it's a good thing he's gone. Where I disagree with the Administration ------------------------------------------------------- 1.) Pre-emption. The President should've allowed the UN to finish it's inspection job. That's clear from the lack WMD and the pre-invasion intelligence I've seen including the link you've provided. 2.) Winning the peace. The President and his staff have been wrong at almost every turn in post-war Iraq and they continue to make the same mistakes over and over. Further they lie to the US claiming "mission accomplished" or that we're "turning the corner" when we're clearly not. 3.) It is my belief, and the opinion of the few Senators I trust on both sides, that their "yes" vote on Iraq was not meant to say, "invade today", but meant to give the President the negotiating leverage necessary to get the desired result: complete inspection. The yes vote was the equivalent of Andy telling Barney to load up his bullet. It was meant to be used as a last resort only. I don't think we were at the point. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Find out how CFTicket can increase your company's customer support efficiency by 100% http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=49 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:183020 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
