Whoa, wait a minute. LIke Nick said, 4WD isn't the end-all-be-all for 
snow, but it is certainly better than 2WD, and not all 4 tires spin on 
snow.  That why you have differentials and limited-slip, power transfer, 
etc.  The whole reason for 4WD or AWD is just that, have 4 wheels that 
can provide grip, then give the power to those wheels that can use it 
the most.  It's a hell of a lot easier to control a 4WD vehicle than any 
2WD one.

Sorry, Larry, but this statement sounds like one made from a guy who 
drives a Geo Metro.

That being said, I don't advocate jackasses driving like they have a 
sno-cat under them.  That's unacceptable.  However, 4WD is much safer 
than 2WD in the snow.
