I totally agree with you on that. 4WD is great when used correctly, it allows for better control in bad road conditions. But as with anything else, add in stupidity or ignorance and you end up with trouble.
It is great to drive through fresh snow. Get a good 4 or 5 inches out on the road. Get up drive through areas where nobody goes anyway.
