Both my wife and my father had their gall bladders removed withing that
last
few years. They just poked a few small holes in their bellies and
yanked it
out. Both were up and moving around within a day or two. A bit longer
for
my father but he's substantially older then wifey.

My wife would get really sick after eating certain things, with lots of
pain
and puking. To this day I cannot look at cheese nips without getting a
little nauseous.

All in all seemed to be a fairly simple procedure (in and out of the
hospital in a few hours) with very little downtime.
