I have heard something about that but the machine is non-invasive and
non-dangerous. It is a little hard to get used to, and I am still
working on that. But considering the benefits -- when you cannot
breathe your heart works harder trying to get oxygen to your brain. I
was waking up with my heart beating really fast, once or twice a
night. The right side of my heart was slightly enlarged, and no longer
is. They think this may have been the cause of or a factor in my
pulmonary embolism. Sleep apnea definitely correlated with atrial
fibrillation, which runs in my father's family.

By the way, I thought I was waking 3-4 times a night when in fact it
was almost fifty times an hour.
