I have heard something about that but the machine is non-invasive and non-dangerous. It is a little hard to get used to, and I am still working on that. But considering the benefits -- when you cannot breathe your heart works harder trying to get oxygen to your brain. I was waking up with my heart beating really fast, once or twice a night. The right side of my heart was slightly enlarged, and no longer is. They think this may have been the cause of or a factor in my pulmonary embolism. Sleep apnea definitely correlated with atrial fibrillation, which runs in my father's family.
By the way, I thought I was waking 3-4 times a night when in fact it was almost fifty times an hour.
