If there is one other student in the school with the same or similar
piercing then you have a case. I'd seriously consider moving her to another
school, or at least out of this teacher's class.

MT's Verizon post got me fired up again...

On my way to work, my wife called and said she had received a call from
the high school that my oldest daughter (16) attends.

They suspended her for having a nose piercing. Around Xmas, she spent
$70 of her own money to get a tiny stud in one of her nostrils.

Of course, there are other students with similar piercings. This one
teacher is the only one who has ever made a comment and today took her
to the principal for discipline. (She got the piercing right after Xmas
and today is Jan 20. Now, all of a sudden, it's a bad thing?)

The suspension paper said she had to remove it before coming back to
school. The guy who did the piercing said not to remove it for eight
weeks. Well, that's still five weeks away.

So, do we lose the $70 piercing or do we fight it? I, and my wife, are
ready to fight this. I told my daughter to cover it with a small
bandage, then tell them "it is taken care of", but not to lie and say
she removed it.

My daughter has had some problems with friends and got into some
trouble. Her grades suck and she hates school. We finally got her
interested in school again where she is studying like she has never
studied before. Now, they kick her out of school for this crap.

Are public school systems this fekked-up everywhere or just Warrick
County, Indiana?
