Any person who loves freedom and has a decent political history education knows there's only one thing to fear: government. Were there no historic precedent of government enslaving its citizens then I'd agree with you. Unfortunately only very recent history has seen any type of egalitarian governments and many of them, including our own, were almost overthrown. Further, many of the autocratic regimes didn't start with a bang, but a vote. They were slowly created by citizens like you who voluntarily gave up their freedom with the same justifications you use. You see, paranoia is the irrational distrust of others.
