The whole point of the special court system was to skirt around red tape. So not only can they get a warrant when they need it, but they can also do it for days without even having it. There was a new report that said this system has generated thousands of false leads. They donât even have enough translators as it is to translate valid intelligence.
Youâre allowing our government to have carte blanche by saying itâs ok for Bush to do this because of a post 9/11 world. The world is still the same, we had great intelligence before 9/11, and the issue was with communication. The CIA and FBI did not communicate between themselves and that is what allowed the attack to happen. Those kinds of things are not going to happen today and I am tired of hearing how the world is horrible and we should all be in fear. We are much more educated than we were 5 years ago and I donât think taking away our rights is going to make this country safer.
