Nope. He did not inform law enforcement at all. Not immediately nor 14
hours later. Although in a small town like that, I'm sure they knew
just about instantly.

The doctor in the Emergency room was the one (following local law) who
reported the gunshot wound to the police.

Also, the police were informed less than an hour after the shooting.
What you are referring to is when the police QUESTIONED Cheney about
the incident. They questioned some people Saturday night, and others
Sunday, but worked out with Cheney's staff that they would finish the
questions in the morning. There was no hot pursuit, there was no
suspicion of drugs or drinking, so the police did not feel the need to
finish the questioning on Saturday night. A few hours later was fine
with the police. (According to them on the news today, they agreed to
waiting until morning)

If you are going to argue this way, you really need to get your facts straight.

It's fun enough without distorting the facts.
