I got around to wondering why nobody had ever been by to ask my daughter for a statement wbout the guy who tried to abduct her a couple of months ago. I went down to get a copy of the report so I could see whose desk the case was stuck on.
There isn't one. There will be a record of the event, as she called 911, and I am already working on getting a copy of the tape. At which point I will be demanding some answers. I am sure that there will be a certain amount of scrambling to cover butts,as all this happened in the "nice" side of town -- it is unfortunately true that the fact that the neighborhood is affluent will be a factor -- and really, there should at a minimum be a report saying what they did to try to find the guy. The fact thet there isn't indicates that they didn't do much. I considered taking this little story to the newspaper but I know my daughter will not want her name used -- I had to reassure her that she didn't do anything wrong -- and I don't know if it will go there.
