Remember that the doctrine of any Christian church says that god is all-powerful... So, if god can do whatever it is that he wants, then there's no reason to assume that he couldn't or wouldn't simply manufacture evidence of a larger and older universe which didn't actually exist in order to test our faith. I don't personally believe it, but it's not necessarily contradictory to the doctrine. And yeah, wow. :) I don't buy it personally because I don't buy biblical literalism in general. There's plenty of evidence that the christian bible has not been handed down in-tact from gods lips to modern man. For starters, we have numerous hand-scribed historical coppies of the text and the texts of these coppies contain variances, just like any oral tradition changes over time. Sure, god could have also manufactured those historical texts as another test of our faith, but if that's the case, then what faith exactly is he testing? :) i.e. in order to test people's faith, he needs to first povide a consistent authoritative source in which someone must have faith. If the thing in which we're supposed to have faith is inconsistent, then we have no way of knowing what we're supposed to believe or how to pass his test. s. isaac dealey 434.293.6201 new epoch : isn't it time for a change? add features without fixtures with the onTap open source framework http://www.fusiontap.com http://coldfusion.sys-con.com/author/4806Dealey.htm ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:201664 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
