You'd be wrong. I do not "roll" stop signs. I come to a complete stop. Every time. I was a geek, so underage sex was not an option. I do not jay walking, I wait for the light. And always cross at the light. I did speed once, and got a ticket. Haven't really done so since. I did drink underage, but by its very nature, it is a juvenille crime, and I have grown out of it.
There are no outstanding crimes I've committed that I could turn myself in for (either the statute of limitations have run, or the "crime" is merely a finable offense.) I'm willing to do the time (or pay the fine) for any crime I commit. I am not saying all of these people should turn themselves in. THAT is unrealistic. But I am saying if they are found to have broken the law, they should immediately pay the penalty for their crime. You are saying that they should never be brought to task for their crime. I disagree. People should take responsibility for their actions. If they are willing to break the law, they should be willing to suffer the consequences.
