So, low estimates say it will take about 3 BILLION dollars to rebuild the levees to protect Plaquemines Parish. That is about $180,000 per person who lives there.
Does this make sense to rebuild? And to give the residents guarenteed government flood insurance? I'm starting to think no. (New Orleans is a different story, with different cost/person calculations. And also a different tax history/person, which I DO think should be part of any rebuilding calculation) What do you all think? Russell, what am I missing here? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:203376 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
