I honestly feel we (soldiers, veterans) are pretty much taking it from multiple directions. The Bush/Cheney Cabal is obviously a culprit. The kids from the left that wish they were around in 69, and are trying to make up for it now are culprits and the people that threw away those flags are culprits.
The people that threw away those flags also dropped their La Rasa and other Spanish language signs in there together. It could very well have been legal immigrants, or American supporters, remember I think that the neo-cons and the lefty socialist types are as bad and as much to blame in all of this. To be honest I am losing faith in our ability to act a single unified nation anymore. I truly fear we are on a slow long descent into civil war. I am wondering if it's even avoidable at this point. It wasn't done on purpose, I'm sure, which is even worse in my eyes. I can see and understand the desecration of a flag as a means of protest, I can't support it, but I can see it's value in expressing a point. This off handed, care free desecration took place because whoever threw them away didn't care about that flag and didn't care about the proper way to respect and treat it. The fact that it occurred, even taken separately from the immigration issue, is a symptom of how little people that live in this nation, citizens and non-citizens alike, think of this country, how little they appreciate the rights and the freedoms and the ability to earn a living wage, and to provide for their families in ways that wouldn't be possible in other nations. I don't know, I have a lot of stress in my life, a lot of medical issues and a lot of other stuff going on, maybe I am allowing this to hit me deeper than I should, however, I don't think so.
