NO IT WASN'T

In 1999 there was a meeting between Wissam al-Zahawie, a top Iraqi official,
went to Niger. This was the Iraqi official in charge of all nuclear matters.
In 1981 Iraq did acquire uranium from Niger.

Zahawie claims the trip was to convince Niger to break the embargo on
flights to Baghdad, as Niger had previously done with Libya.

Do you believe the senior most Iraqi official in charge of nuclear resources
was in Niger, the country with the largest Uranium deposits in the world,
and had previously sold uranium to Iraq was there talking about an embargo
on flights to Baghdad?
