Maybe 1980 or 1981? Maybe 79. Nope 1981. We were there the day Harry Chapin died.
Some really good highlights in my memory from that week. * necked with a girl I had never met before (coming from a small town, this was BIG) * found a grenade under the tent * was held at gunpoint (uzis) by the King of Sweden's bodyguards * came within 15 degrees of being killed by a landmine/frisbee (still a bit scary to remember) * watched the Oak Ridge Boys warm up, singing Harry Chapin songs, crying and sipping whiskey * became a hero when I procured a keg or beer and a golf cart. * made like $300 selling old patches (that I had bought at a yard sale) On 4/13/06, Ray Champagne <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > What year did you go to the Nat'l Jambo, Jerry? > > I went in '88.
