If it is the marks ,my uncle works for Lowes and he told me that the fibers in the carpt are heat activated, so a steamer will make the fibers come back up again as though there were never anything on the floor. I came from a house growing up that had wood floors in all the bedrooms and I love having carpet. I used to hate the scratches on the floor.
