Maybe I am just feeling a bit impatient with some of the hairsplitting that 
takes place here and it's obscuring my clarity of vision here. But I don't 
think I see your point. 

For instance, there is a voiceover saying that taking political contributions 
is a crime in Texas. This is a true statement. We see the president saying that 
Tom DeLay was very useful in getting certain legistation passed. I don't know 
whether this is a true statement, but I sure do see the president saying it.

Does the film (as extrapolated from this teaser) go on to say that it was bad 
that a criminal was running congress? That maybe the president owed him a favor 
or two? Most likely. 

Do you think that's a "smear"? It actually sounds like a reasonable conclusion 
to me.
