do we really need to go over the technical issues of presidential elections
again? if you don't like the electoral college, propose an amendment to the
constitution.

it is you who is seriously deluded. the only question the supreme court
addressed was the due process issue of Katherine Harris certifying the
election, v. having Gore's challenge for a selective recount enforced. Had
the Supreme Court voted otherwise, Gore would still have lost the selective
recount- according to the study done by the New York Times, et. al. after
the fact.

According to the same study, the only way Gore could have won on a recount
would have been to ask for a statewide recount, not a selective recount. It
is ironic because the Gore camp believed a statewide recount would not have
been in their favor, while a selective recount would have given them the
election. But since he never asked for a statewide recount, that issue is
totally moot. So stop crying about it and move on - dot org!
