I heard a guy on the Dan Patrick show today, on his daily 1-4 ESPN
Radio Show, *yes
just a couple hours after I heard Big Ben talking on the Mike and Mike
show with Erik
Kuselias (standing in for Mike Greenberg) and Mike Golic* anyway, this
guy emails the
show and states something to the effect of this:

When the rider is wearing a normal full face/head helmet that it
becomes OVERLY heavy making it prone to RIPPING off of the neck and
causing more damage than would happen without. He cited a study in
his email by some college (out west, somewhere California, I think)

Anyway, sounds plausible... but wouldnt some protection be better than
that? I wonder how often the circumstances would allow for NO helmet
to be better for you? OR would the old school skull cap version be
safer?

No idea, Im dying to get a bike and every story like this puts me one
step farther away.
