Lebanon is already a fiasco, and really a microcosm of Iraq: poorly
planned on fantasies of power, and executed even worse. At least
Israel seems to be admitting it and doing something about it. Bush
just dun seem ta learn too good.

And yet the Republicans are still pushing the plate of crow away ...
but they are admitting they should be at the table. That's progress.
Especially with people like George Will and that Nat'l Review editor
speaking out; as well as most every general.

So Pentagon, Israel, if you're listening (which you rarely do) here's
the secret: ground troops win wars, air power doesn't. Oh, and if
you really want to win, you have to fight the PR war.

If you want to know how, ask Nasrallah; he couldn't be doing a better
job. Hezbollah is on the scene as we speak handing out US$12,000 to
every person and rebuliding infrastructure -- so who do you think the
Lebanese are going to back in the next election?

The terrorists know that to win they must win the heart and minds. To
do that, they must position themselves as social service organizations
and goad the US and Israel into protracted battles that make them look
weak and Hezbollah strong.
