The ideas above are fine (except for the taxing the rich a little
more-politicians are generally rich and there is no way they will tax
themselves). How will they be accomplished. What are some actual
ideas. Hell, I can get up and sing kumbahya, say I want peace in
Iraq, better schools, and cheaper fuel and it means just about as much
as the Democratic leadership's plan.

There are some Republican ideas I like, but there aren't many true
Republicans in office. I like the ideas of smaller gov't, lower
taxes, stricter control of welfare, etc. However, these just aren't
gonna happen. Some of your jab about coorporations and the rich ring
true (don't try to exempt the Democrats from this; they are just as
bad).

> But where are these great republican ideas and why do these democratic ideas
> need revisiting?

I don't think the Republicans are doing a good job. However you ask
about ideas. Bush tried to push social security reform, not hard
enough if you ask me, but got slammed by the media and the Democrats.
No Democrat offered any type of alternative. When fuel prices
skyrocketed, Bush pushed for drilling in Alaska. There may be a
conspiracy here about Bush and big oil, but I don't want to get into
it. Needless to say, the left just said no, save the trees, etc. No
alternative except ride the bus. The Republican line is to hold the
line in Iraq, thus drawing terrorist to Iraq while helping stabelize
the country. The democratic line is get out. That's it. Get out.
What about the terrorist and an Iraq that is (hopefully) learning to
stand on its on. Etc. Etc. Etc.

The Democrats have been blasting the Republicans for 6 years and it
has gotten them nowhere. If they would stop pandering to the far left
and look towards normal people, it would go a long way towards making
them successful.

Bottom line: Both parties suck. I would vote Libertarian if they had
a snowball's chance in hell of winning (I do vote Libertarian in a lot
of local elections-just not the national). As it stands now, I vote
against a candidate. I voted against Gore and Kerry because I was
afraid of what they might put on the Supreme Court. That is the only
reason I voted for Bush. Hopefully, in the next election, the
Democrats will field a strong Candidate who can win. It will be the
best thing for both parties because the Republican party will have to
start putting in better candidates for all elections.
