I've also been doing a gallon to a gallon and a half a day in the last month and can feel a difference. The HIT plan and water were recommended to me by a trainer friend of mine who is probably one of the most in shape and built guys I know, so I figured I'd give it a try.

That sounds just like the meat heads at my gym and is totally bogus. You need a well balanced, full body workout with plenty of rest. Rest is more important than lifting, always. Your muscles grow as they heal. One thing I will mention is the importance of water. You wanna see fat loss, make sure you keep hydrated.
