I don't know what you're referring too.  My point is that there is no
American fight in Iraq any longer.  It's either:

(1.) We keep everyone from attacking everyone else in the hopes that a
political solution is western friendly (thus the 1,000,000+ troops).
That's not going to happen unless the World steps up big time.

(2.) We support one side or the other (Sunnis or Shiites) or some side
of a side.  There's no good option there to pick so this is not going
to happen.

(3.) We leave and see what who wins.  This seems to be the only choice.

Thus the reason the Pentagon opposes a surge - there's no there there.
