Well as if the stupid licensing crap that we have been discussing isn't
enough, Micro$oft has found another way to screw users and get us to cough
up more $$ if we want to upgrade our OS. Seems that Vista Upgrade HAS to
have a current copy of Windows running on the computer. You cannot do a wipe
of the HD and then install a fresh upgrade like you can with 95,98 and XP.
So that means that we either have to purchase a full version ($$$) or deal
with upgrading a computer that may have issues. I am already hearing folks
having issues with the upgrade and having to go out and get a full version,
then all works well (coz it is a fresh install). The blogs are full of
pissed off folks who are bashing Micro$oft for this. Hopefully they will
listen and do something about it, but then I am not holding out for world
peace anytime soon either.
