Nonsense +2! I would never, personally, equate the current prez to Lincoln. It makes for funny Robot Chicken, but that's about it. =] At issue here is abuse of power, plain and simple. That people can try to justify this atrocious stuff is beyond me. My lord, using WWII and Lincoln to compare to what we just went through?!?!?! 9/11 and Iraq?!??! (or was that, Iraq and 9-11?) Next I'll hear someone say the Red Scare was justified. It's just plain silly. If you don't see what's wrong with Bush2 having 100 times + the amount of signing statements of any president prior, you really do have your head in the sand. In my opinion, it's not so much the system being broke in this case as it is someone just plain abusing it. It's our job to say "hey, that ain't cool", not go "but Lincoln did it!" or other down- playing tom-foolery.
