I'll give you an actual example from my life.

I was taking a class at the local CC, European History (Middle Ages).

In the fifth week, after 4 weeks of 90 minute rants on how bad Ronald
Reagan was as a president, I asked if we were ever going to talk about
European History.

I was kicked out of the class, given an F, and refused a refund on my course.

The class _never_ discussed European History at all in the entire
course. Grades were awarded based on class discussion, higher grades
were given for agreement with the premise that Reagan was the devil
(remember the 666 name thing? It was brought out at _every_ class).

Now, the really sad thing was, I agreed with much of what he said (not
the demagoguery), and it even might have been appropriate in, say, a
Contemporary History class, or even maybe an American History class.

Besides me being an idiot for mouthing off, was that right at a state
run school?
