The difference is we area not a social state.  We do not provide for the

masses, we are capitalist. The strong survive the weak get tossed by the

wayside. 
If we were socialist we would:

1. Provide benefits to those who are less fortunate and unable to 
provide for themselves (like Welfare and Social Security)
2. Provide medical care to the poor and those without insurance (like 
medicare)
3. Governmental protection for and handouts to industries (energy, 
farmers ..)


See we are capitalists we don't, er uh ,, I'll get back to you.
