The CIA, NSA, etc. knew for years that something big was in the wind.
Remember the first World Trade Center bombing? Remember the USS Cole? The
African embassy bombings? Khobar Towers? These events did not go unnoticed
in the U.S. government.

But it is a big jump from knowing that Al Qaeda wants to stage attacks on
U.S. soil to knowing that 19 Arab men are going to fly planes into buildings
on 9/11. The government knows both far more than they share and far less
than conspiracy nuts accuse them of. That is the way it works, regardless of
who is sitting in the White House.
